Today, we had to brace for the 4th nor’ easter of the winter. It wasn’t as bad as we expected but we still had a lot of snow.

I was supposed to go to the city today for my weekly class and a meetup. But, because of the storm, I stayed home and tried to take advantage of the free time I have.

I finished a couple of lessons from Colt Steele’s Web Dev Bootcamp course. I’m a third done with the course and I’m hoping to get done with it in a few weeks.

After that, I focused on working on one of my other projects. We have an NJ group that are working on an online Contact Book. The purpose of the project is for us to exercise the stuff that we have learned from the Grow with Google Udacity Developer Challenge. We also wanted to experience how it is to be able to work in a development team.

Things are becoming easier for me. I spent about 2 hours coding everything. Since I learned Flexbox, I have been using it more. I use it primarily to center elements.

The thing I want to learn more about is positioning. I used it today to position some text on a specific spot. I felt like it was  bit hackish to be positioning things like that. But, maybe it’s how things are done. I’ll have to research more.

Anyway, this specific task was definitely easier because one of my teammates, Michelle Perez,  created an awesome design. It was simple and elegant.  So, all I had to do was implement it. Here’s her design.

You can see the finished product as my featured image.

That’s it for today. I’m on day 14 of this challenge and I’m loving every minute of it.

Adios!
